"YOU SHOULD SEE THIS GUY PLAY" - STEVE KOURNIANOS ABOUT SARDARIAN
The St. Petersburg-born hockey player joined Andrei Altybarmakyan and Artem Manukyan as the third ethnic Armenian to be drafted in the NHL in the past few years. He transited through “Russ” Moscow school to CSKA in 2016 and made a strong debut for the “Red Army” in the MHL last season, scoring 30 (9 + 21) points in 50 games. In May, however, Steven decided to continue his development in the NCAA and will spend a season with the juniors in the USHL before joining the University of New Hampshire.
"Sardarian is a very creative winger who can play center as well. You have to see this guy play. He's strong, powerful and has a low center of gravity. He's an outstanding playmaker," that's what The Draft Analyst scout Steve Kournianos said before the draft.
The forward himself declares that he likes to play with his head and hands and that he needs to gain more muscle mass first.
